How to Import OPML Subscriptions
Switching from another feed reader? EchoLive's OPML import lets you bring all your subscriptions in one step. This guide walks you through exporting from your current reader and importing into EchoLive.
- Step 1: Export OPML from your current reader (Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, etc.)
- Step 2: Open EchoLive Feeds and click 'Import from OPML'
- Step 3: Upload your .opml file and review the parsed feeds with folder structure
- Step 4: Select feeds and configure defaults (voice, refresh interval, category)
- Step 5: Subscribe. EchoLive imports all selected feeds and preserves your folder organization
OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) is the universal format for feed subscription lists. Every major feed reader can export OPML, and EchoLive supports OPML 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 formats with case-insensitive attribute parsing.
To export from Feedly: go to Organize, then Export. From Inoreader: Settings > Import/Export > Export. From NetNewsWire: File > Export Subscriptions. The result is an .opml file containing all your feed URLs and folder structure.
In EchoLive, open Feeds and click the import button. Upload your .opml file and EchoLive parses it, showing all feeds grouped by their original folders. Duplicate feeds you've already subscribed to are detected and flagged.
Select the feeds you want to import, configure default settings (voice, refresh interval, auto-generate audio), and subscribe in batch. Your folder structure from the original reader is preserved as categories in EchoLive. Feeds start refreshing immediately after import.
